Mis warm-ups favoritos para empezar las clases de/en inglés

The Ultimate Trial… Examen de Ingreso al Servicio Profesional Docente. Ingles para Primaria. THAT’S REAL! 2017-2018

At least on my state, this last month has been a rollercoaster of events. Finally, after teaching for 12 years in elementary on HONORARIES bases. It’s here.

I am excited yet petrified. I have a lot to study.

For my fellow and friend, HERE you have the almost complete bibliography to study.

NOTE: Most of the books are complete, so check the pages you need to study. NOT THE WHOLE THING!

Almost all printed. That’s a lot to read!

Mail Day

My daughter is in Preschool now (1st grade… what!?) Anyway, in her school they asked us (parents) to write a letter for our children for Mail Day (October 9)

Honestly, I had no idea of the celebration. As good parents, we wrote a letter and my daughter was over cloud 9, 10 and 11.

She was sooooo excited that I liked to do a class about it. I made a mailbox (horrible, no pictures) and a big letter to explain to my little students the art of writing a letter envelope.

I gave them a letter and we sent it for someone inside the school: classmate, sibling, teacher, etc (I got a few)

If you want to do the same and print it, HERE YOU (mailday)

Super Mom

Sometimes, let’s face. We are out of ideas for a holiday. It’s difficult to outbeat yourself or try not to repeat last year. Well, last year, I had an idea and it went okay.

I made a printable, a card for students’ moms. And some corny and cheap earrings. I personally believe it works for all grades, but it’s definitely cuter with the youngest. Let’s face it. As moms, we are all corny.

In paper, it didn’t look that bad. I really believe I was on the right track.

The original idea was to make it in class with my students but I didn’t plan the time right… there wasn’t enought to finish them. We barely did for one group.

CAM00574But they did look good on me. YES, it’s a paper clip.

Probably my Craziest Idea so Far

I know we are all stressed out and everything with the new evaluations. There is such lack of information and a lot of gossip… but I am not talking about that.

I was thinking in the terrible amount of work we do at home. Even if you are the laziest teacher ever, you still have some things to do OUTSIDE of your schedule. If you work by hours, you can’t go into the classroom without a lesson plan (GOD FORBID!) and you can’t use your teaching time to plan.

Books/Movies Sagas... easy EFL teaching? Doing some thinking, some answers too

So what is my idea? We should have Saturdays to work on planning and other boring management things and be paid by it.

WHAT? Yes, hear me out. What I mean is ‘let’s go to work on Saturday’ but only paperwork. AND GET PAID.

We are probably the very few professions that take work at home. I was raised by a nurse and she never brought a sick person home. Why can I do the same?

You are probably saying. “BUT I want my Saturdays”. Come on! Let’s face it. At home, it’s a jungle with your home, your spouse and your kids. Do we honestly pay attention to them because we are gradding/planning/scheduling/etc?

I know it’s wishful thinking but I need it to say it.

MUST BUY teaching tool

Over the summer with those mesmerizing BACK TO SCHOOL sales on each supermarket, I saw this on Soriana. I bought one out of curiosity.

VEREDICT: Almost two months and I haven’t finished it. The tip is still good. I still have some ink on the little bottle.

I BOUGHT an extra one on Office Depot where you can find the refill bottle for $22.50 and the whole set too.
