Hello Spring and Summer Break, Happy Birthday Mister President

21 Mar

Finally, Spring is here.

Tomorrow we dive into 2 weeks of relaxation and possible beach time.

Today also is the Birthday of our only Native American Mexican President Benito Pablo Juarez Garcia. He was born in 1806 (207 years ago). He was a remarkable President who is known as Benemerito of the Americas.

Benito Juárez’s most famous quotation is: “Entre los individuos, como entre las naciones, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz“, meaning “Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace.” The portion of this motto in bold is inscribed on the coat of arms of Oaxaca.

Since he is a very important piece of Mexican History, there are statues or/and monuments of him all around the country as well as schools named after him.

Benito Juarez in Queretaro, Queretaro. It’s probably the tallest one: 13 meters. This one is situated in Cerro de las Campanas, very important location were Emperor Maximilian surrender.

The furtherst I have found in Chicago, Illinois.

Two week vacations, here we go!!!!
