This experiment is a spin-off of the classic drinking carnation, the one that you see how plants absorb water.

This is the drinking blue carrot expermient.

I like this one because it’s less visible and more interesting… Be concern about the use of knifes but you can ask students to cut it with their hands.


Sadly, it didn’t work like I expected. Probably, the carrots didn’t “drink” like they should because they have been harvested a long time ago, “dead”. I think you need recently harvested (don’t know where to get it).

That’s why you gotta try them first at home, safety first and avoiding nasty surprises (for all experiments)….

Soooo… I’ve got 1/3 of experiment success. No problem! Thomaas Edisson had a lot of unsuccessful experiments before getting right the lightbult.
