Conversation hearts

12 Feb

Conversation hearts aka sweerhearts are heart-shaped hearts with phrases written on them. They are originally made by the company Necco for over a century.

It’s customary to eat, give and recieve on Valentine’s day.

This year I am using them for my lesson planning to review ordinal numbers, instructions and culture.

I made a poster with 16 hearts with different phrases like: twit me, bear hug, yum yum, #1 fan, email me, table for two, awesome, you rock, etc.

Heart Crown

First, draw a heart
Second, write a phrase
Third, decorate
Fourth, cut
Fifth, staple to make a heart crown.

This one was made by my secondary students
